Mentorship and Time Management

Pupils’ Discipline
The learners have a warm and loving relationship with their teachers. We encourage our teachers to be strict and firm but friendly as they deal with learners’ discipline. We encourage learners to learn from their mistakes and grow to be responsible children. To enhance discipline, guidance and counselling programmes are conducted on a day to day basis.

Mentorship
Embu Kawa Academy and Junior Secondary School continuously conducts a tracer survey of its past pupils. The purpose of the survey is to evaluate and monitor the usefulness and relevance of its education services to its pupils to better fulfil its vision. Through these surveys, the Board of Management and school administrators are able to identify measures to enhance the pupils’ performance.

The school has a pool of past pupils who are now in a wide range of professions. The alumni are members of the mentorship programme for the learners.

Time Management
To ensure Embu Kawa Academy and Junior Secondary School pupils spend their time effectively and efficiently, we train them to:

  • Develop good study habits necessary for effective study in school and at home.
  • Develop mastery of English and Kiswahili in the shortest time after admission in the school. This enables them to understand the books they read and the examination they do.
  • With mastery of these two languages, they are able to understand their teachers better.
