Opening days
Embu Kawa Academy and Junior Secondary School opens on a Monday of the first week of official opening. This minimizes wastage of learning time. Learning kicks off immediately on Tuesday.

Mid Term Break
Pupils are given a mid-term break in line with the Ministry of Education guidelines
Mid term: 23rd March 2023 – 26th March 2023
Clinic Day
An academic day where parents are involved in discussing their children’s academic performance is held every term.
Thanks giving/prize giving day
A day specifically set aside to thank God and ask for his blessing is held every first term before form one intake. Previous candidates and teachers are awarded and appreciated for the work done during the previous years, and the continuing pupils encouraged to work harder. A Motivation Speaker is invited as a Guest of Honour to talk to parents, teachers and pupils.
