A Word from the MD

A Word from The Manager/Director
“In the eighties and nineties, many private schools mushroomed in Kenya. Most of them had very scanty teaching/learning materials; and some without even a playground. To date, this position has not changed much for most of them.

In the same period, provision of teaching/learning materials and inadequate staffing had started affecting the performance of public schools negatively. With the start of free primary education in 2003, there was an influx of pupils in public primary schools. This seriously affected staffing, with many schools having inadequate teachers. In both instances, a vacuum of quality education was created.

Using my experience as an educationist in primary, secondary and teacher training institutions, I got motivated and challenged to establish a private school model, that provided the necessary educational environment conducive to teaching and learning. An environment with adequate, relevant and appropriate teaching/learning materials including the staff.

In addition, this teaching/learning environment would provide the four key areas needed for the formation of holistic person; intellectual, physical, social and spiritual. All these are what Embu Kawa Academy and Junior Secondary School provides for its pupils.

  • The school has academically qualified, professionally trained, dedicated and energetic staff to take care of the pupils. Teachers make use of the approved course and library books, and modern technology including computers, TV and radio for visual/audio lessons among others.
  • The spacious playground and adequate games/sports equipment used during games sessions caters for the physical growth of the pupils.
  • The clubs and societies in the school curriculum help pupils in their social growth.
  • The school also makes arrangements for pupils to attend church services regularly and provides guidance and counseling sessions. With these, the school takes care of the pupils’ spiritual growth.

More so, Embu Kawa Academy and Junior Secondary School is a home away from home. It is located in a serene environment that is clean, safe, healthy and easily accessible by parents, guardians and friends. The school provides a balanced diet, and has dorms that are spacious, clean, with plenty of water and comfortable beds.

I hope you consider Embu Kawa Academy and Junior Secondary School as your school of choice. It is a school out to instill Quality Education for Quality Life.”
